Born in Sydney in 1939, John Downton OAM FBAS FRAS FASMA is one of Australia's finest international landscape and navy artists.

John's love of the Australian bush and sea shines through in his work. The scenes he paints come alive on canvas. He captures natural beauty and tranquility in his paintings for all to admire.

John Downton has held exhibitions in Sydney, Eden, Canberra, and internationally. Companies and public institutions have used John's work on calendars and cards. Many have John's paintings in their corporate collections in Australia around the world. John is regularly invited to judge local and regional art awards.
